Tattoo aftercare guidelines
Love your tattoos
During tattooing, the skin gets damaged, causing a kind of abrasion. If you take good care of the tattoo, it will take about 6 weeks for this wound to heal.
If the tattoo is covered with foil, you can remove it after 2 hours. You can shower with a tattoo.
Treat the uncovered tattoo as following:
-
Wash the tattoo twice a day with a mild unscented soap or lukewarm water.
-
After washing, pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel.
-
Lightly lubricate the tattoo for 3 to 7 days with an ointment that you have received from us or that we recommend. If you have dry skin, lightly lubricate the tattoo for a maximum of 2 weeks.
During the healing process, make sure you:
-
Touch the tattoo as little as possible (wash your hands before taking care of the wound).
-
Do not scratch the tattoo.
-
Do not cover the tattoo with tight or soiled clothing.
-
Do not cover the tattoo with a band-Aid or bandages.
-
Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms for the first 6 weeks.
-
Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning beds for the first 6 weeks.
The tattooed skin remains very sensitive to sunlight even after healing. Always lubricate your tattoo with sunscreen factor 50.
Note: contact your doctor in case of extreme redness, swelling, bleeding, wound fluid, color change or chronic pain.
